Liverpool County Premier League Report on

Sunday Youth Divison for 23rd October 2011

We begin this week with the news that AFC Liverpool has continued their good start with another 3 points after a 2-0 away win at Obiter, who put in a sterling performance but could not hold the fire power of Lewis Weston and Adam Jones.

East Villa are 2nd after a 4-2 win over The Famous Grapes who were 3-2 up at half time only to be pegged back and then beaten by a superb second half performance of East Villa who had a never say die attitude. Scorers for East Villa were Joe Lipson with his 7th of the season aided by Chris Cavanagh who scored his 3rd of the season, plus Shaun Derbyshire and Joe Edwards.

Houldings go 4th after a 5-2 away win at Aintree Vipers who must feel unlucky as the result does not reflect the game and how it panned out. Aintree Vipers scorers were James Moran and James Dillon but these were cancelled out by a Mike Atherton double and singles from James Jones, Liam Wolston and Ged Cooke.

Warner Boys go 7th after a 3-1 win over Warner Wanderers, Danny Deegan with a brace and a single from Neido enough for all the points.

Carters are 6th after a high scoring 6-4 win over Woolton Wanderers, Peter Woods with a brace for Woolton.

Warner opened the scoring from an own goal from the Carters centre half, but all the play was from Carters and they equalised and then led in the space of 2 minutes. In the second half Carters laboured but took the score to 3-1 and then were pegged back to 3-2 in the dying minutes but held on for a victory and 7th place.

The Famous Grapes go 4th after a 4-2 win over East Villa, Joe Lipson with his 6th of the season for East Villa, was aided by a Liam Rogers strike and at one time east Villa led, however in the second half, The Grapes took control and scored through Shacklock (a brace) another goal for Whittick and finally from Woodward gave the Grapes all the points.
